PHOTO INFORMATION: State Reps. Jerry Neyer and Angela Rigas join Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, along with Rowan Morey’s mother, Brandi Morey-Pols, and stepfather, Brian Pols, for the signing of the Rowan Act, legislation named in memory of six-year-old Rowan Morey. The new law expands the tools available to law enforcement when a child goes missing, giving greater flexibility to alert the public and mobilize resources quickly. It allows public broadcasts for missing children believed to be in danger, not just those believed to have been abducted, and authorizes the use of social media to quickly distribute information to the public.
